Description
Me taken by a fellow enthusiast at The A39 Launch event on the Downpatrick & County Down Railways (March 7th), looking all Russian for a sunny day.
The vehicle my right hand is touching is NIR's RB3 Railbus, built by British Leyland in 1981, send to Canada for testing and re-gauged for use on NIR metals, she was used initially on the Coleraine-Portrush branch, then became a track inspection vehicle. She was withdrawn in 1990 and spent sometime in the Ulster Transport Museum on display, before being sent here to Downpatrick in 2001 where she is put to regular use.
